I am taking a hiatus from Instagram after 3 years on this platform.
This started in 2023 when my publisher, ORO Editions @oro_editions , nudged me toward social media to promote the book AI SAPIEN: Variations on Architecture and the Future. I am grateful for the interest in a rigorous craft-based approach to AI in architecture and art.

AI SAPIEN is the term described for the sentient and sapient machines: AI and robotics. The term "SAPIEN" is a Derrida-inspired play on words based on Homo sapiens, in which the final "s" is removed in a purposeful misspelling to indicate absence and deferral of meaning. These beings, like us, are incomplete without symbiosis.
For this futurist portrait, Midjourney AI was tasked with generating a cyborg self-portrait blended with 3D-modeled inputs from the human author. The process was extensive (multiple iterations, layered prompts, and careful refinement) resulting in a co-creation between human and AI.
